Wishing You Well by Mo Manning

Hello, It's Colleen today from Ice Land:) I really live in Maryland and it snowed several inches Christmas Eve, it was the kind of snow that sticks to the branches and is just gorgeous. Yesterday we had rain all day on top of the snow and the temperature dropped  and turned everything into ice. So glad I do not have to go anywhere. I love driving in the snow, but the ice you have no control and slide every which way.

My creation for today at  7 Kids College Fund is a card using "Wish You Well" by Mo Manning. The cold and flu season has begun and I wanted to make a get well card for a dear friend. We used to work together in the ER so this sweetie was perfect image for my card.

Did you ever have paper that is so pretty you just didn't want to cover it up? That is how I felt using Paper: Isabelle First Edition 6X6 paper pad. It has 64 sheets (4 sheets of each design including sheets with glitter effect and they are stunning!

I stamped my image on X-Press It Blending Card with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Copics Sketch Markers for coloring:  Hair: E25, E31, E50. Skin: E11, E00, E000.
Green: G28, G24, G21. Shadows: N1, Grey: W3, W1. Blue: B95, B93, B91
Diamond Glaze: dimensional adhesive that dries to a clear glass- like finish was
applied to her shoes and stethoscope.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my wonderful friends and family! My original goal was to do a posting per day throughout the season, but my days have been so busy, it just didn't happen.  Yet, I wanted most of the Christmas cards I have made posted before Christmas. I am wishing you all have lots of love, health, joy and lots of laughs celebrating the birth of Christ.

Tomorrow we will travel to my daughter, Amy who lives two hours south of us. Amy and her hubby went Christmas shopping while they were visiting us on Thanksgiving.  My grandchildren, Abbie and Andrew were sleeping when they returned and they hurried and took all the presents down to the basement for me to wrap. YIKES, it took me three hours!!  When I wrap presents each  one has to be wrapped in a different design/color wrapping paper. They look so pretty under the tree with different paper. At first I was not looking forward to doing this task, but it brought back many wonderful memories of when my own children were small -  I enjoyed it! Not saying I want to do this every year!:)

The following are some of the cards I have made but haven't posted. I am not going to bore you with all the details, but if you want to know anything about the card, please do not hesitate to ask me in the comments:)

I love Sara K!

Hello Happy crafters! Today is an anything goes posting for me so I created this cute birthday card for my daughter. She lives in Florida and loves the changing of the seasons we have here in the the north.   I chose one of Sara K's images to create her card with for it's fall and wintery.  Sara K is one of my all time favorite stamp artist. .  Most of her images are nostalgia and heart warming as with  Elosie and Mimi Saying Hello! There is nothing better then knowing your neighbors are there for you and only a phone call away. We had a house that had a backyard fence very similiar to this one so I really wanted to recreate it.  LOL I think I should have made the gate a tad wider:)

Don't forget the Festive Holiday challenge is going on right now at the 7 Kids College Fund challenge blog! Come on over and play for a chance to win a $20.00 gift certificate to the store!

Christmas Puppy With Stocking

Hello Happy Crafters! It's Friday! Yay and tomorrow I will be on the beach in Aruba! Oh my gosh, I can't wait for it's been a very stressful 2 months. If you have been following my blog you will know I have had a very stressful two months after being told I had two brain tumors. It took 6 weeks to get an appointment with one of the best neurosurgeons in the world, at John Hopkins Hospital. And, you won't believe what happened when we arrived! We were walking up to the front door of the hospital and everyone was coming out and fire engines everywhere. All's I could think of was "today? NOW? you got to be kidding me" Well, to make a long story short - someone pulled the fire alarm and we only had to wait 15 minutes to go in.  PHEW.  My appointment was at 2 PM and I didn't see the surgeon until 4:30 - long afternoon. He showed me my two tumors on film and explained he could remove them or we could wait and see if they grow and  have MRI's every three months for a year. He said  there is the possibility that they will not grow any larger. We both agreed to not have surgery and do the MRI's. Don't fix what is not broken!!

Hubby and I decided when this all happened we were going to Aruba for one week and it would be our Christmas gift to one another. . So I am packing by bags and tomorrow we leave! Ask me if I am excited!! I probably won't be able to sleep!:)

My card today is created with this adorable digi stamp Christmas Puppy and Stocking and you can purchase him at McMahon Five on sale for $1.50! Isn't he adorable?

7 Kids College Fund Challenge

Hello happy campers! I have been keeping it a secret until my first challenge!  I am now proud to announce that I am on the 7 Kids College Fund Design Team!! Can you tell I am smiling big time?! Last spring I had the pleasure of meeting Tab, owner of 7 Kids at her store. Oh my gosh, I could have spent my life savings in a heartbeat for she had it all. My favorite stamps, paper, embellishments, glitter, flock - you name it and she had it. Seriously, we almost missed our plane for I just wanted to pick everything up and look at it! I was also looking for a particular Christmas tree embellishment that was discontinued and Tab kept searching every vendor until she found several  for me:) So remember if you are looking for something special and can't find it anywhere - drop Tab a line and trust me, if it is out there, she will find it!

The Stores Challenge for the next two weeks is Festive Holiday and I used this sweet image by Silvia Zet. I had a lot of fun with her.  She was stamped using  Momentum Black Tuxedo Ink onto X-press It Copic paper and I colored her with my Copics. I cut her fur collar and muff out and coated them with Cotton Ball White Fun Flock and created a 3 D vision by raising them on Pop It's. The snow flakes were cut out with a Fiskar punch and I  coated them with Quick Dry Adhesive and sprinkle them with Star Dust Stickles Dry Glitter - yep you can now buy Stickles as a dry glitter and I love it! I used a Friskar Border punch on the bottom of the card and  Spellbinders Scallop Oval Die to cut out my sentiment!

I wish you could see how sparkly the glitter snow fakes are.
